Dear Readers,

It will be almost 8 years since I took over as President of the association.  These past 8 years have been exciting, sometimes tiring, but over all extremely fulfilling and enriching.  I have tried to serve this esteemed association to the best of my ability.   I am grateful to the support and understanding that I received from my office bearers, my committee members, staff and all the other members of the association.

CMAI has evolved into dynamic and vibrant association of garment manufacturers - domestic and exports.  It is the foremost association within the entire chain of the textile industry.  I thank all of you to have given me the opportunity to lead this prestigious association. I am very proud of the achievements that have happened over the past 8 years.  Fairs have evolved magnificently and today are on par with the best worldwide.  Our Apex Awards have become a benchmark for the industry.  Our participants in India International Garment Fair (IIGF) is at all time high.  The government holds us in very high esteem.

Over the last two years, we have started playing a more active role on the international scene as well.  We are very proud to be co - founders of Asian Apparel Federation – coming together of 16 apparel producing nations in our region.  The fact that we singularly represent India is in itself proof of the high status we are held in domestically and internationally.  

All the above would have been impossible without the active support of everyone on the team.  They made me look good. 

The revamping of this very magazine which you are reading is also a source of great pride for me.  Today our magazine is an industry torch bearer and very well respected all around.

I would like to place on record my sincere thanks to all those who have  extended to me their unstinted support. 

My thanks are due also to Rajesh Bhagat - publisher and the entire apparel team under him for the good work done by them in making this magazine what it is today. 

My best wishes are to incoming President Rahul Mehta and his team.  I am sure you all will continue to support them in the same way you did me and together CMAI will scale greater heights of success.
